                                                        History Of Rock Lake

The railway was built from Starkweather to Rock Lake in 1905. The town site was surveyed in the spring of 1905 with August Raff the surveyor in charge.

Rock Lake was incorporated as a village on the 28th day of April, 1906.

In 1906 the first newspaper, the Rocklake Ripples, was established. It was a weekly publication, owned and edited by S.U. Treadmill.
